Held for the first time in an elegant private room at Bobby Van’s Grill, the 16th edition of our annual Wine Tasting and Scholarship Dinner was a memorable night for Spartans in New York.
Seventy guests were welcomed with opening remarks from Greg Hauser, President of the MSU Alumni Club of Greater NY and just-named recipient of MSU’s Alumni Service Award.

Spartan Fall Fest 2012 was held on September 21st, at the Heartland Brewery in New York City’s Empire State Building. Spartans ranging in graduation year from 2012 to those who graduated over 50 years ago had the opportunity to meet each other and build upon their common Michigan State experiences.

Kathryn and Kyle Price (both MSU Alumni) are pictured above enjoying their reserved seats at Mercury Bar East during the Notre Dame game. The Prices’ placed the winning bid for the front row seats at the Spartan Fall Fest auction, from which all proceeds benefit our Endowed Scholarship Fund.

On Friday May 13th at Ben Benson’s Steakhouse, the MSU Alumni Club of Greater New York held its 13th Annual Wine Tasting Dinner to benefit the Greater New York Endowed Scholarship Fund. 72 Spartans attended the event, which included a four-course dinner with wine pairings chosen by previous Board member Bill McPharlin Jr.

On December 6, 2010 Sparty visited with the Alumni Club of Greater NY at Mercury Bar East in New York City to raise money for the V Foundation. The event was able to raise $630 and all of the NY area alumni were thrilled to be able to see our beloved Sparty within the shadow of the Empire State Building.

Thanks to all who bought tickets from our club for the game last Tuesday night. You were part of the largest group we ever had for one of our events with 626 tickets sold by our club.
As you will see in the photo some did manage to have a good time even though the game did not have the result we all would have hoped for.
