Recap: Bronx Zoo Tour

Early Saturday morning, a few dozen Spartans journeyed to the Bronx Zoo for a “fun-formational” tour led by zoo enthusiast and chapter president, Greg Hauser. Greg admits that zoo visits were a highlight of his childhood, prompting him to earn his degree in Zoology from Michigan State.

Over 20 Spartans came out to our tour of Governors Island on Saturday August 20th, 2011. Part of the group included Kathryn Vetter our Endowed Scholarship winner as well as several Spartans who are brand new to NYC (some just graduated in May).
Everyone enjoyed the chance to learn more about NYC as well as the beautiful walk with the magnificent views of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline.

On Saturday June 4th, one dozen Spartans enjoyed the opportunity to network and socialize sweetened by common Spartan experience and by some the the best chocolate in NYC. It was a beautiful day to enjoy a walk that begin with chocolate from a market stand on the Lower East Side and finished in the West Village at Abington Square.

Billions of years of the earth and mankind’s evolution was covered by Club President Greg Hauser at the American Museum of Natural History. Over 15 Spartans attended (including at least one neanderthal) and all left with quite a bit more knowledge about evolution, as well as a reminder of why we are lucky to live in the New York area with a world famous treasure like the American Museum of Natural History.
